Using Zoom Translated Captions

Zoom Translated Captions allow meeting participants to view live captions automatically translated to the language of their choice. For this to work, the meeting’s host must have an add-on license assigned by Coursemojo, and must configure the add-on according to the instructions below.

(For meeting hosts) Enabling and configuring captions

1. In your web browser, make sure you’re signed into your Coursemojo Zoom account and head to https://zoom.us/profile/setting
2. Scroll down to “Translated captions” and enable it:
   
3. Click “Edit translation languages” to change the add-on’s settings.
   
   • If you’ll only speak English in your meeting, you only need English selected under Speaking Language
   • In the “Translate to” drop-down, select all languages your meeting participants will need captions translated into (selecting only the languages participants need will give them a smoother experience)
   
   

(For students) In-meeting directions

1. Click Show Captions on the bottom of the screen:
   
2. Captions will default to English. To change them to another language, click the up arrow next to Show Captions, and select a language under “Translate to”:
   
   • “Speaking language” refers to the language you (the student) will speak in the meeting; if this is other than English, you can change it here
   • To show both English and translated captions at the same time, click “Show original and translated"
