A powerwash is a factory reset which may resolve various Chromebook issues. If you're not sure whether to powerwash, please reach out to help@coursemojo.com for troubleshooting support.
Before you powerwash/factory reset a Chromebook, make sure that anything you want to keep is saved in Google Drive or email. Powerwashing will permanently delete everything saved on the Chromebook itself (including in the Downloads folder).
The Chromebook may not connect to school wifi after powerwashing. In this case, contact your school's Ops or IT team to get re-connected.
When you’re ready to powerwash:
1) Sign out of the Chromebook.
2) On the sign-in screen, press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R.
3) Select Restart and wait for the Chromebook to restart.
4) In the box that appears, select Powerwash and then Continue. The Chromebook may take a few minutes to set up.
5) Follow the steps on the screen (“Get started,” “Connect to network”).
6) Sign in with your Google account.
After this, check to see if the problem is fixed. If not, your school's Ops or IT teams may need to take a look.
