Zoom Translated Captions allow meeting participants to view live captions automatically translated to the language of their choice. For this to work, the meeting’s host must have an add-on license assigned by Coursemojo, and must configure the add-on according to the instructions below.
(For meeting hosts) Enabling and configuring captions
- In your web browser, make sure you’re signed into your Coursemojo Zoom account and head to https://zoom.us/profile/setting
- Scroll down to “Translated captions” and enable it:
- Click “Edit translation languages” to change the add-on’s settings.
- If you’ll only speak English in your meeting, you only need English selected under Speaking Language
- In the “Translate to” drop-down, select all languages your meeting participants will need captions translated into (selecting only the languages participants need will give them a smoother experience)
(For students) In-meeting directions
- Click Show Captions on the bottom of the screen:
- Captions will default to English. To change them to another language, click the up arrow next to Show Captions, and select a language under “Translate to”:
- “Speaking language” refers to the language you (the student) will speak in the meeting; if this is other than English, you can change it here
- To show both English and translated captions at the same time, click “Show original and translated"
- Now captions will appear in the language you selected:
